Tips for parents
Many tweens are very good at finding information online, but they will need help finding reliable sources and websites. As these young children get more and more interested in being online, parents can still help their children become more independent while also keeping tabs on exactly what the youngsters are doing online. Parents can keep the computer in an area that is readily accessible to both the child and adult. Parents can use the parental controls to set limits on where online children can go, keeping in mind that as children gain experience, they will be able to find ways around these controls. Considering limits, parents can also limit the time children spend on the computer, both how long and how often.

Introduction
If you have a child between the ages of 8 and 12, you are the parent of a tween. Many of these young children are quite savvy with the technology of today. They can search the web, watch videos and listen to music online, and chat and text with friends. The safety of our tweens must be our top priority while they are navigating this online world.
