Many tweens are very good at finding information online, but they will need help finding reliable sources and websites. As these young children get more and more interested in being online, parents can still help their children become more independent while also keeping tabs on exactly what the youngsters are doing online. Parents can keep the computer in an area that is readily accessible to both the child and adult. Parents can use the parental controls to set limits on where online children can go, keeping in mind that as children gain experience, they will be able to find ways around these controls. Considering limits, parents can also limit the time children spend on the computer, both how long and how often.
